One of the better dining options of the New Market Square area on Maize Road. When it comes to Tex-Mex food, On The Border is the most dependable in Wichita. I’ve had some outstanding meals and drinks here throughout the years, and my latest visit was for a fantastic curbside pickup. Fajitas-for-two was a game winner that came with tender and flavorful chicken and beef, along with tasty sides of rice and beans, and a serving of some incredible chips and salsa. Portions have shrunk and prices have shot up on these carryout orders, but the meal quality is still extremely good. My call to let them know of my arrival was met with rudeness unfortunately, and that attitude has been commonplace with the waitstaff with some of my dine in experiences here as well. However, I’ve had some excellent meals inside too, and typically seek out this restaurant when on the northwest side of Wichita. I recommend this OTB for some fine Mexican cuisine.

Had a great dinner here tonight. The food was very good and fresh. I really enjoyed the homemade tortillas that came with the fajitas. The white queso dip was so good we couldn't stop eating it. Our server was super friendly and fast.

His recommendations were impeccable, his attentiveness seamless—anticipating our needs with grace and perfect timing. The food was a masterpiece of bold flavors and vibrant authenticity, but it was Graham’s hospitality that truly made the evening unforgettable. If you visit, do yourself a favor—ask for Graham. His service transforms a meal into a moment to be savored.

The margarita was really good but the queso beef enchiladas and beans needed more flavor. The service was great though.

We ordered combo meat fajitas. We wished we ordered the steak only. It was so tender and cooked to perfection. They were a little stingy with the pepper and onions. But overall it was good. We ordered to go and it was ready in a timely manner and hot when we got home!
